Modernization of the Cameroonian diplomatic apparatus: The Government adopts a system

The Government has a system for securing consular services, on the high instructions of the Head of State, the Minister of External Relations, H.E. MBELLA MBELLA, signed on behalf of the Government on April 1, 2022, the Partnership Agreement between the Republic of Cameroon and Impact Palmarès R&D SAS, relating to the financing, design and implementation of the security and standardization of consular services in Cameroon. Impact Palmares was represented by its President, Mr. Girèsse TELA.

For Cameroon, it is a matter of equipping itself with a new architecture for processing consular services that are now completely standardized, secure and in compliance with international standards. As of June 2022, our country plans to issue biometric visas on secure vignettes, as well as consular cards, passes, mortuary passes and many other unfalsifiable solemn documents, both in the Ministry of External Relations and in Diplomatic Missions, Consular Posts and Police Posts at Air, Land and Sea Borders.

It should be noted that the system proposed by Impact Palmarès is the one already tested at the Embassy of Cameroon in Côte d'Ivoire for several months, with regard to biometric visas. It optimizes and perfects the DIPLOMAT system developed by the New Technologies and Cryptography Unit of the MINREX, both in terms of security and data centralization. In terms of infrastructure, the project includes the construction of a Data Center in Yaoundé for the storage and security of data, and the deployment of appropriate state-of-the-art equipment in our Embassies and Consulates as well as at the various points of entry of our country.

This modernization of the diplomatic apparatus aims, among other things, to improve the services offered both to our diaspora and to users of our services abroad (queues; long distances to travel; etc.), securing personal data, optimising consular revenue with better traceability of related operations, etc.
