Affidavits and Statutory Declarations

The Consulate General of Cameroon in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai) can provide notarial services on affidavits and statutory declarations.
The clientele mainly targeted by this type of service is that of Cameroonian citizens; however these services can also be offered to non-citizens, where the documents served must be used in Cameroon. For these reasons, solemn declarations and affidavits must be written in one of the two official languages of Cameroon.
Government of Cameroon offices abroad do not prepare or correct these documents, and do not offer any advice as to their form, content or characteristics. Likewise, they offer no opinion as to the validity of the documents for the purposes for which they were written and entered into.

A - HOW THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED

The signing of affidavits and statutory declarations must necessarily take place before a consular officer or an honorary consul. Therefore, the presence of the applicant is mandatory.

There are three chronologically distinct stages for these acts:

-     Electronic sending or filing of document(s)

All documents (including the annexes and addenda mentioned therein) must be submitted in advance, obviously without signatures, by email and  face-to-face at the Consulate General of Cameroon in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai), where a consular officer will ensure that the documents are duly completed, can be executed before a consular officer of the Government of Cameroon, and does not create any agency report. The email sent must contain the names of the clients, as well as the point of service where they plan to go in order to obtain the notarial service. In the vast majority of cases, the Consulate General indicates whether the service can be rendered within five working days.

-     Making appointments

As soon as they have obtained confirmation from the Consulate General, clients must make an appointment.

-     Execution of acts

Clients must present, at the appointment, an unsigned copy of the deed submitted for evaluation (including the annexes and addenda mentioned therein), as well as the original of a valid personal identity document on which appear their names, date of birth, photo and signature. For example, they can present a passport or identity card. These documents do not have to be Cameroonian, but must be valid and must have been issued by a competent authority.

B - RIGHTS

Fees apply for each identical set of affidavits, statutory declarations and signatures affixed in the presence of a consular officer. Payment can be made in Dirham.
Check acceptable payment methods when booking an appointment.
